Welcome!
I am Bernadette, come have a peek at our family cooking aventures!
Hi, I’m Bernadette, Southern French wife to a Chicago American, mom of five, settled in North Carolina.
Where I come from, we love sharing a colorful meal around the table with friends and loved ones.
When I arrived in the United States as a law student, I already was very much into Health & Nutrition. My future husband had a passion for fitness and all things protein, but not specifically nutritious food…. Together, we successfully combined the best of both conceptions of healthy living. He helped me to become more fit, and I encouraged him to be holistically healthier. We are one among many examples for multicultural families enjoying the best of both cultures: We have adapted the French art-of-life to our American life!.
This solid background helped me take care of myself when I started having health issues
I am a born traveler, and lived in many countries before moving to the US. I had to adapt and find healthy food sources wherever I went, whatever the budget
My first baby was born in 2015 while i was undergoing heavy antibiotics treatment. I grew up virtually antibiotics free! A few months later I developed eczema on my hands, and a series of until then uncommon stomach bugs. I thought my low energy was normal for a new mom. I realized my eczema was triggered by the heavy load of antibiotics I was given during birth that hurt my gut. This added up to the toxicity accumulated over the years, and the natural fatigue and nutritional deficiencies associated with motherhood and breastfeeding.
So, I went on a mission to heal myself. Three additional beautiful babies later, I was finally healed. …
Successfully dealing with my own health issues reawakened a deep desire to help others. So, I assisted friends through their own health issues, with nutrition and lifestyle changes. Together, we mobilized their body’s built-in capacity to heal. I loved it so much I decided to put my passion to good use and become an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach specialized in gut and hormone health.

The Vitaliseur is not only a gorgeous pot. It is an amazing cooking tool of genius ! It is designed to cleanse your foods while preserving their nutrient density. That’s beside its main function of simply cooking. I have been using it for decades and am not done exploring its possibilities!
Steamed Cuisine – The Blog
This blog is specifically devoted to families who strive to feed their kids HEALTHY, delicious foods and FAST without the headache. As a mom of five dedicated to my whole family’s health, I learned to cook so my whole family will enjoy what I make without having to hand two or three menus…
The Vitaliseur has been my first ally to accomplish that. Why? Because it does cook FAST, does not change the tastes of the foods I cook, and detoxifies the foods I cook in there. Because natural tastes remain intact, kids actually like it, and we don’t need to use a ton of condiments or sauces to hide the taste of natural produce, meats and fish.
Based on my own tastebuds, I am convinced the reason kids – and many adults – don’t like vegetables and fruits is often because they have been overcooked, cooked too long, which damages their texture, degrades the color, kills the nutrients, and mostly, mostly destroys the taste.
Or because they are used to sweetened cooked fruits instead of fresh ones! Steam cooking with the Vitaliseur ( or Vitalizer) remedies that problem. And that’s what my food blog is there to show! What is more, there are so many things you can cook in a Vitalizer, you’ll barely need too many other fancy cookers any more!
I DARE YOU !!
Take a chance and try it out! You won’t regret it. I’m here to assist you in your new culinary adventure: adapt your family recipes to steam cooking, find new ones you like, start creating according to your taste. Don’t hesitate to message me!
